Possibly as good as the 2000, the 2001 is impressive in the elegant style this estate produces. A rich effort for this estate, the deep ruby/purple-colored 2001 offers sweet, floral, berry aromas with restrained new oak notes. With loads of fruit and freshness, decent acidity, and light tannin, this pure, nicely delineated, moderately weighty St.-Emilion will be at its peak between 2006-2015.
