A good effort from proprietor Clement Fayat, this 2013 Pomerol exhibits a dark ruby color as well as fleshy black cherry, raspberry and currant fruit, medium body, decent but unobtrusive acidity and a succulent, atypically plush finish. It can be consumed over the next 4-5 years.

The 2013 Fayat is wonderfully generous and pliant for the year. Dark red cherry, plum, spices, menthol and new leather flesh out in an expressive, inviting wine. The tannins dry out a bit on the finish. Otherwise, this is a solid showing.

The Fayat 2013 has a ripe blackcurrant and blueberry bouquet that has good lift but lacks some definition. The palate is sweet and over-extracted on the palate. Consequently if feels a little one-dimensional towards the finish.
