The 2016 de Candale is sumptuous and creamy, with supple fruit, silky tannins and lovely balance. This is an especially gracious, open-knit Saint-Émilion, with all the elements in the right place. The blend is 85% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc and 3% Cabernet Sauvignon. This is very nicely done. Julien Lavenu and Romain Bocchio are the consulting winemakers.
