An elegant, medium-weight Talbot, I enjoyed the 1998 because of its ripe, open-knit style. It does not possess significant volume or concentration, but it exhibits a dark ruby color with purple nuances. Smoked olive and cassis fruit aromas and flavors characterize this soft, medium-bodied 1998 with a round, generous finish. A supple wine, it was made without excessive extraction, thus avoiding the problem of astringent tannin. Drink it over the next 10-12 years.
