Quintus Dragon - Château Quintus - Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 2015

The Dragon of Quintus 2015 The Dragon has a beautiful vermilion color. The nose is fresh at first, with notes of cherry and raspberry, then a more ripe character appears to stir, leaving a very pleasant impression. The attack on the palate is supple, rather tender. Then the wine evolves in the mouth on fairly well-coated tannins, rather already well integrated at this stage. The mouth, although moderately long, makes salivate and leaves a beautiful feeling of balance.

Nez expressif, sur les baies et les fruits rouges. Entrée en bouche souple. Agréable texture, déliée. Finale gourmande, équilibrée.

Medium-bodied with a forward, sweet, ripe, spicy cherry core, soft textures and an open personality.

The 2015 Le Dragon de Quintus is a blend of 76% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Franc and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon picked between September 23 and October 9. It has one of the most attractive bouquets that I have tasted since the debut of this deuxième vin: ebullient red cherries mixed with cranberry jus and iodine notes, quite "punchy" compared to other vintages. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannin, quite structured with graphite-tinged black and red fruit. The 30% new oak is beautifully integrated here with a long, almost Left Bank-like finish. This is a very well-crafted wine that will drink well for a decade.

Round, juicy and weighty. Loads of charm and a clear step up from earlier vintages. This will offer good value. 2019-2025

An impressive second wine, the 2015 Le Dragon de Quintus captures the richness of the vintage in spades. The flavors are unctuous and succulent, with plenty of dark cherry, plum, spice and new leather nuances. I imagine the 2015 will drink well upon release. This is exactly what a top-rate second wine should be. The blend is 76% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Franc and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Bordeaux 2015 - St-Émilion and satellites | Articles | JancisRobinson.com 76% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Franc, 1% Cabernet Sauvignon. Very aérien nose - quite unlike modern St-Émilion stereotype. Juicy, sweet and round. Some marked freshness on the end - some of the less ripe grapes in here? But lashings of charm. Drink 2022-2030

Le vin se distingue par un très joli nez, rare pour un second vin. Bouche gourmande, savoureuse, fraîche et suave à la fois. Vin délicieux et de suite agréable. Assemblage : 67 % merlot, 23 % cabernet franc, 1 % cabernet sauvignon.

The second wine of Quintus shows so much chili, spice and tile aromas and flavors. Full body, very long finish. Stunning.
