Juicy and so vibrant, real life and full of life with bright strawberry and red cherry, tangy and lifted, such purity and focus on ethos, really streamlined on the palate with tension and detail. Perhaps not the most layered, but for drive and persistence this is great. Fun, friendly, appealing, maybe a touch of heat on the finish, but cool freshness apart from that. Tannins are well integrated just giving a salty, firm grip to the palate.

Pure, as pure as a crystal orb! Tasting Château Puyblanquet 2022 is akin to exploring a mysterious crystal cavern. From the outside, it may appear unremarkable, but upon venturing within, you will be immersed in a dazzling world woven from crystalline acidity and crisp berry notes. The high proportion of clay in the limestone provides a shield against the dry heat, ensuring not only the grapes' growth but also imbuing the finish with a chalky texture. Inky purple colour, clear austerity here, showing edges of blackcurrant, black chocolate, saffron and slate. Located near to Châteaux Boutisse and Pressac, on cooler clay-limestone soils, enjoyable.

D'entrée le bouquet de Puyblanquet signale d'où il vient et plébiscite son terroir argilo-calcaire. Ainsi, il affiche des nuances crayeuses et des parfums de baies noires complétées par une touche mentholée. Le vin a du corps et du pep. Ses tannins, parfaitement intégrés, offrent du tempérament, communément avec la structure acide qui agit en coulisses et qui confère un peu de salinité à la finale. Un vin convaincant ! Bravo aux équipes de Puyblanquet.

The 2022 Puyblanquet is all finesse and class. Readers will find an airy, gracious Saint-Émilion that is much more about understatement and elegance than power. Crushed flowers, mint, sage, crushed rocks, tobacco and dried flowers all run through this airy, wonderfully refined Saint-Émilion. There's a level of precision that is like that of a white wine.
