(60 Merlot, 22 Cabernet Franc, 18 Cabernet Sauvignon) | 80% new oak | 14.6% alc.
This is a mind-blowingly dense and decadent wine. It is huge, sweet, hot, spicy and dry. It is four Saharan seasons in one glass but I think that there are some redeeming features, or rather one redeeming feature - the calibre of the fruit. It is incredible, with power, detail, distinction and massiveness. It is shocking, but in a good way. It will take 50 years to soften, and I won’t be here, but someone else will read this note and hopefully say that he got it right. What a bizarre situation to be in. 18.5++
