Giscours handled the 1998 vinification well, producing a charming, round, lush, open-knit, fruity wine. Intelligently, they did not try to over-extract and thus avoided the problems with excessive as well as astringent tannin. The wine possesses a dark ruby/purple color, low acidity, and rich, ripe, herb-tinged black cherry and plum-like fruit. Supple and medium-bodied, it is already delicious to drink. Anticipated maturity: 2001-2012.
