The 2016 Blason d'Issan is a blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 60% Merlot matured in 35% new oak. It has a light, slightly earthy bouquet with blackberry and autumn leaf aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly hard tannin on the entry, quite crisp, but there is a touch of hardness on the finish that will need to be addressed during the élevage.

Opening with hints of coffee bean, earth and plum, this wine is medium-bodied, fresh and approachable with a sweet, vibrant cherry-filled style. This will drink well on release.

This is a fantastic Blason with gorgeous fruit and velvety tannins. Full-bodied and dense with soft and velvety tannins. Lovely acidity at the end. Best ever second wine from here.
