Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

Medium-deep ruby. Aromas of blackberry, black cherry and spicy oak are accented by black pepper and dried herbs. Juicy, leanish and only moderately intense, with a saline quality to the medicinal flavors of black fruits, licorice, spices, herbs and pepper. The tannins are smooth but the moderately persistent finish comes across as a bit green. I am usually a big fan of Langoa Barton, but I found this wine lacking in complexity--not to mention the structure for serious aging.
