The 2014 Hosanna followed the 2014 Latour-à-Pomerol at my tasting at J-P Moueix. To be frank, it did not quite possess the same breeding and precision as that wine, veering more towards red rather than black fruit, crushed strawberry and mulberry, tinged with clove and bay leaf. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin and impressive fruit concentration. Here is the real quality: a structured and quite masculine Hosanna, albeit with genuine complexity, allspice and clove intermixed with dusky black fruit and freshly cracked black pepper. It finishes with a sense of confidence and style. Hopefully the aromatics can improve during bottle age; I strongly suspect that they will.

Fascinating aromas of crushed raspberries, stones and flowers. Full-bodied, dense and concentrated with fruit, wet concrete and walnut skin. A wine that is tight and structured. Needs time to soften. Try in 2022.

Very dense, with a wall of ganache and loam holding the core of steeped fig, blackberry and black currant fruit in check for now. The tannins are evident yet ripe, and seem to be slowly melding with the fruit. The finish drips with dark earth notes. Patience is required. Best from 2020 through 2035. 1,250 cases made.

The 2014 Hosanna is rich, bold and dramatic, with all of its customary intensity on display. Black cherry, blueberry jam, plum, lavender and exotic spice overtones crescendo as this dramatic, sweeping Pomerol shows off its grandiose personality. Ample and voluptuous, but with plenty of underlying structure, it possesses fabulous depth as well as pedigree. A touch of Cabernet Franc adds aromatic intrigue, but above all else, Hosanna is a wine of breadth. 95+

A wine of magnificent pedigree, the 2014 Hosanna boasts remarkable depth and translucence. Cloves, violets, plums, blueberries and leather are some of the many notes that flesh out. A dollop of Cabernet Franc gives the 2014 much of its aromatic presence. A spine of firm, imposing tannins propels the explosive, captivating finish. I imagine the 2014 will require quite a bit of patience, but it is a special wine, that much is clear.

The Château Hosanna 2014, back after a year's absence, makes up for lost time with a winning tobacco and gravel themed bouquet, plenty of black dusky fruit following behind. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin. It is less exuberant and voluptuous in style compared to recent vintage, but there is more weight and presence than say, the Certan-de-May, with quite long, lightly spiced, structured finish. Perhaps this Hosanna is atypically "serious" in style, but it should offer 15 to 20 years' drinking pleasure.

Delicate and gentle with a wonderful sweetness of ripe red berries on the mid-palate. Beautifully composed with violets, cassis, cocoa and velvety tannins. A sensual wine that offers much pleasure even in its youth.

Scented and alluring. Some lovely fresh Cabernet Franc aromas and a silky texture. Very winning indeed in a medium register. Lots of refreshment (only just not too much acidity). Will always be relatively light but should offer great pleasure.  Drink 2024-2040

Im Gaumen samtig, elegant, die Säure und die Tannine sind bereits im Extrakt eingebettet. Der Wein setzt auf Eleganz und Finesse. Alles ist im burgundischen Bereich. 18/20 2021 – 2040
