They 2018 Grand Corbin has an elegant and refined bouquet with blackberry, raspberry and light rose petal scents. The oak here is neatly assimilated. The palate is smooth and rounded on the entry with dark chocolate tinged red fruit. Whilst the wood tannins are conspicuous on the finish the oak feels simpatico with the fruit and I suspect that this will age into a fine Saint-Émilion.

The 2018 Château Grand Corbin is mostly Merlot but includes 20% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aging in 40% new French oak, it's a pretty, elegant Saint-Émilion that has notes of black raspberries, crushed flowers, spice, and ample minerality. Medium-bodied, with good freshness and ripe tannins, it's certainly an outstanding wine.

The 2018 Grand Corbin is laced with super-ripe dark red cherry, cedar, tobacco and spice notes. I find it compact, unyielding and searing in its tannins, some of that perhaps attributable to the shock of heat stress. Tasted two times.

Medium-bodied, floral, soft and polished, this wine delivers a streak of sweet, red fruits on the mid-palate. Give it a few years or so to age and this will be an even better wine.

A tight and focused young wine with blackberry aromas and flavors, buttressing the cedar and dark chocolate character. Complex and subtle for the vintage.

From the same owners as classified Château Cantemerle in Haut-Médoc, this has firm, dark fruits with well built, flexible tannins. There's real structure to this wine, with high walls, and it's enjoyable and well defined. It has a bouncy freshness, joined by blackberry and raspberry coulis notes, if a little more austere than some.
