An atypical climate with a mild and rainy winters, an early spring with mild temperatures, but cool nights. b5952cb1c3ab96cb3c8c63cfb3dccaca It is registered as an early year similar to 1990 the identity of great vintages. b5952cb1c3ab96cb3c8c63cfb3dccaca The month of May was mixed with cool periods and temperatures of 30 °. b5952cb1c3ab96cb3c8c63cfb3dccaca The flower took place in good conditions with a little drips on the Merlots allowing good aeration of the bunches. b5952cb1c3ab96cb3c8c63cfb3dccaca A disappointing summer with climatic hazards which slowed down the development of the vines. b5952cb1c3ab96cb3c8c63cfb3dccaca Thanks to a very good knowledge of our soil and the great precision of the treatments, mildew, very virulent, has been well mastered allowing the foliage to fully play its beneficial role in maturation. b5952cb1c3ab96cb3c8c63cfb3dccaca A prodigious, dry and hot autumn, the hottest for 100 years, during September and October allowed to concentrate and obtain an exceptional maturity of the grapes. b5952cb1c3ab96cb3c8c63cfb3dccaca We were able to calmly harvest a moderate harvest in volume. b5952cb1c3ab96cb3c8c63cfb3dccaca You had to be patient to allow the grapes to perfect their ripening. b5952cb1c3ab96cb3c8c63cfb3dccaca In the cellar, Thanks to our new vat room we were able to go much further in the selection of grapes and the conception of the vinification. b5952cb1c3ab96cb3c8c63cfb3dccaca Black fruits, beautiful spices, beautiful oak for an elegant and crunchy nose. b5952cb1c3ab96cb3c8c63cfb3dccaca Elegant, fine palate with well-established tannins. b5952cb1c3ab96cb3c8c63cfb3dccaca Beautiful expression of subtlety and elegance. b5952cb1c3ab96cb3c8c63cfb3dccaca Cut for the guard. b5952cb1c3ab96cb3c8c63cfb3dccaca

Fruits noirs, épices, violette, bouche fine, élégante, bien fruitée, finale assez tannique mais sans dureté.

The 2014 Dauzac is an attractive, mid-weight wine with lifted aromatics and a feminine personality. Sadly, a touch of volatile acidity on the finish detracts from the wine's overall balance.

This is not a wine I taste often but I was truly impressed with this vintage, as the recent change in ownership/management has clearly made a difference. Round textures, ripeness in the fruit and a kiss of oak, this elegant wine finishes on a note of dewy, lusciously ripe berries. 88-90 Pts

The Château Dauzac 2014 has a surprisingly opulent and outgoing bouquet in the making with plump blackberry and blueberry scents, flanked by subtle violet and pastille-like aromas. The oak here is nicely integrated. The palate is fresh and vibrant. It feels linear at the moment, tightly packed and perhaps is missing that peacock's tail on the finish. Staying linear for the time being, this is a classic Dauzac style, fresh in the mouth, a wine that may surprise a few people after bottling. Including myself.

Dark crimson. Healthy glow. Rather sumptuous nose. Very flattering and lots of ripe fruit that just about stands up to the tannin and no excess of acid. Good balance.

Sweet, juicy and round with flavors that are balanced and elegant with restrained flavors of plum, redcurrant and violets. A balanced and well-crafted wine. The modest length and finish suggest it should age and evolve well over the next 4 to 8 years.

Fine fragrance and good persistence of flavour – more elegant than Dauzac often is at this stage. Good fruit and a good future. Drink: 2019-2030 (90)

A refined and pretty wine with firm tannins, fresh fruits, chocolate, berries and currants. Medium to full body. Flavorful finish. Very well done.

Aufhellendes Granat. Viel rote Pflaumen im Bouquet, leicht tintige Spuren im Hintergrund zeigend, mittlerer Druck. Im Gaumen saftig, fein und elegant. Hier hat man eine feminine Vinifikationsvariante gewählt. 17/20 2020 – 2039

92–94. Barrel Sample. This is a structured wine that's packed with dark tannins. Those tannins give a dry, firm character to the wine. They also deliver power and density, with enough acidity to give promise for the future.

A hint of cocoa leads the way, followed by dark cherry and plum fruit, finishing with an encore of sweet toast. Has some tension, but the fruit needs to step up to
match the toast.
