A blend of 50% Merlot, 43% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Malbec, harvested between the 18th of September and the 11th of October, the 2019 Bouscaut came in at 45 hectoliters per hectare and 14.5% alcohol. Deep garnet-purple colored, it features a good intensity of fresh blackcurrants, redcurrant jelly and preserved plums scents with hints of dried Provence herbs, damp soil and pencil lead. The medium to full-bodied palate has a firm, chewy frame and just enough freshness supporting the muscular black fruits, finishing a little rugged.

The 2019 Bouscaut is a very dark, ripe wine of tremendous power and intensity. A rush of black cherry, graphite, scorched earth, smoke, licorice, lavender, chocolate and spice builds effortlessly here. Dense and explosive, the 2019 has so much to offer. I especially admire its energy. The 2019 still needs time to come together, but it is already impressive. Tasted two times.

Picked at 43hl/ha between 18 September and 11 October, the 2019 Bouscaut has a focused and delineated bouquet with blackberry, briary and light black olive scents, pretty and refined. The palate is medium-bodied with a lithe, malleable entry matched by a fine thread of acidity. Quite saline in the mouth, it displays moderate weight with a slightly conservative yet classy finish. I insert a question mark since there was noticeable variation between bottles, a couple showing less well than expected.
