The 2019 d'Aiguilhe sports a very deep garnet-purple color, springing from the glass with vivacious scents of fresh blueberries, kirsch and ripe blackberries plus wafts of underbrush, wilted roses, chalk dust and chocolate-covered cherries with a hint of lavender. The medium-bodied palate has an electric line of freshness cutting through the perfumed black fruits, textured by finely grained, soft tannins, finishing with a skip in its step.

The 2019 d'Aiguilhe is classy and understated to the core. Floral and citrus notes perk up the red berry fruit nicely, adding a good bit of freshness as well as verve. Quite surprisingly for the year, d'Aiguilhe is pretty tightly wound and in no mood to show all of its cards. Even so, there is good depth and plenty of promise.

Dunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, dezente Randaufhellung. Zart mit Grafit unterlegte schwarze Waldbeerfrucht, feiner Kirschtouch, ein Hauch von Lakritze und Kräutern. The 2019 d'Aiguilhe was picked from 19 September to 5 October and matured in 30% new oak. This has a beautiful, very pure bouquet, demonstrating more precision than the Clos Marsalette alongside. The palate has a spring in its step with fresh red berry fruit, cedar, mint and a citric twist right on the finish. What a delicious d'Aiguilhe, even if I still cannot pronounce its name.

Pourpre violacé. D'Aiguilhe évolue, année après année, dans une logique progressive bien évidemment. Notes fruitées, épicées et minérales avec une touche crayeuse ainsi que des parfums de baies rouges et noires. En bouche le vin est frais, précis, équilibré et soutenu par une belle tension calcaire. Je pense que l'on a franchi un important pas dans la définition de ce vin ; il est moins exubérant et plus percutant. Que d'énergie et d'authenticité. C'est un très grand d'Aiguilhe. 2023-2043.

Perhaps this is the most elegant offering yet for this wine. It is refined and polished with purity of fruit in the extended finish. Blending 88% Merlot with 12% Cabernet Franc. 93-95 Pts
